Held Weekly, Our Delightful…

Yeppoon Community Markets

When: Saturday at 6 am – 10 am

Where: Stevenson Park, Yeppoon Showgrounds.

Here you’ll find a wide selection of “picked yesterday” fruit and veg, herbs, preserves, dry goods and even pickled eggs and locally made salami. There’s almost no limit to what you can find – new and second-hand treasures, fashion, accessories, plants, homewares, art, books, toys and collectibles.

The Yeppoon Community Market has a long history with the community as a charity, supporting countless community organisations and locals for the past forty years. Originally started as a Rotary project by Mr Jim Stephens, a Rotary member and farmer with only 6 stalls, give or take, after a few years the market was handed over and had a name change to the Yeppoon Charity Market, then with another name change to what it’s known today as the Yeppoon Community Market as many of the donations being made were also going to eligible organisations and people and not just charities.

Grown over the years to the wonderful market it is today, it was set up so that people could have stalls, then all the profits from those stall fees could go back into the Community and that integrity hasn’t changed. The Market has donated lots of money over the years, including a whopping $22,000 for half of the first 4 wheel drive ambulance in this area. Big thanks to the dedicated market committee who volunteer their time to run this weekly market. Want to find out what stalls they host? Visit their Facebook page.
